Easter Rodent
Hunt
The Official
Clink Easter Rodent Hunt runs from
11th – 25th April (Easter
Holidays) |

Stuck for things to do
with the little monsters this coming Easter Holidays?
Then why don’t you head on down to the Clink. The
resident jailor has decided to invite you on an Easter
Rodent Hunt. RODENTS …? I hear you ask? Let’s face it,
chocolate eggs are difficult to get hold of in the
Middle Ages and rats and mice were a plenty scampering
around the damp dark prison, so I’m afraid an Easter
Rodent Hunt is the next best thing.
And besides, if you were unfortunate enough to be
imprisoned in the Clink at Easter (and children often
were) food was scarce however, rats and mice were
plentiful. Twice a day, the Thames tide would flood the
perilous prison, forcing our furry friends to run up
your legs. It was not uncommon to hear stories of
inmates eating them to avoid starvation.
Upon entering the museum, the Clink -kids get the
opportunity to go on an Easter Vermin Hunt. If they
correctly guess the number of vermin, they can win a
chocolate egg. |
