Special Events - Gaolbreak Three Day Living History
Stuck for things to do with the little monsters this
coming bank holiday weekend? Come to the Clink Prison Museum in
Southwark for an exciting visit to the Seventeenth Century!
CHURCH, STATE AND HOUSEHOLD LIVING HISTORY GROUP @ The Clink Prison
‘Gaolbreak’ at The Clink will feature around 24 performers from the
world of historical re-enactment, many of them Londoners. Exciting,
dramatic and enthralling display of life and Death in Englands most
notorious gaol during the civil war.
The display will represent all walks of life from the parliamentary
commissioner to the poor peddler, and will show the workings of the
Civil War armies, explain the reasons for the war, and paint a vivid
picture of the seventeenth century underworld, while telling the
story of Southwark in the middle of the conflict
Events will happen at The Clink Prison Museum, The Anchor Bankside,
The Golden Hind and Southwark Cathedral over AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY
WEEKEND
10am – 5pm each day
Museum general opening times: 10am – 9pm
Admission to museum.
Families ( 2 adults + 2 Children): = £15.00
Adults: = £6.00pm
